DK Phase Meter Power On/Off
« on: April 07, 2025, 06:10:43 PM »
Hey guys!

I've noticed the DK meter in our G+ console can add some wicked high frequency noise in the room...and also, possibly, leaking into the audio signal.  Has anyone ever installed a power switch for these?  Or maybe there's a way to power these off without unplugging it that I'm not aware of?  Any info much appreciated!

Thanks,
Sig

Sounds like it needs to be recapped. I had to do that to are's. Are's is the color version.

Hmmmm never thought that it would need recapping?  Interesting...

Do you have a power button for yours?

No we don't. Recapping solved are problem. It's just to hot inside the meter bridge.
On are SSL 4K consoles, I did put a power switch on the in board console TV monitor, so the 15K wouldn't bleed into the Stereo Quad bus. It was also to extend the life of the monitor.

Ya, extending the life and reducing the heat of the screen were both reasons I was thinking a power switch on the DK meter too.

Are's had died, so recapping it brought it back to life. It's been fine ever since I did that.
