Computer PSU 4k -12vdc light off...
« on: October 15, 2014, 02:29:17 AM »
Hey Guys,

The computer crashed... no monitor etc... -12LED is off on the computer PSU. No shorts found on the transistors...

Can I just swap the reg cards around to see if it's bad? Seems like I heard you could.

Any other tests things to check if missing one supply.

Fan vent holes almost totally clogged!

Yeah, first thing is to swap the regulator boards around, these are all identical (apart from the Hang Regulator in the end slot)

Yeah, found the -12 card and an "OPEN Primary" transformer.

I've seen a few people talking about a sub for the OEP K3020E , but I havent found any confirmed "yes, it worked."

OEP transformers

Hi Andy
Seeing these pictures of OEP transformers reminds me that I used to buy stuff from them many years ago. A guy called Geoff (or Jeff) who used to work at SSL, left there and co-formed OEP which I think stands for Oxford Electrical Products from memory. They were based close to SSL in Oxfordshire but I have no idea where they are now or even if they still exist. Just noticed the phone number in one of the pictures (+44 1993 883214) which is a local area near Long Hanborough and Witney in Oxfordshire, UK.

Hope this proves useful to someone, somewhere? Regards all from Jim Lassen.
