I guess you should try the usual routine, switch modules with spares or working channels. Start with the input card, that is where the channel is muted. I had this on some channels they always had other faults, mostly on the input card. Try to isolate the problem by switching off dynamics/EQ/insert/phantom. Is it on all inputs (mic, line, group) and in any status (VCA to monitor?)?

most probable cause is dc offset at the FET switch, ie leaky cap or bad chip.
