Automan CV96 - Automation Upgrade
« on: July 09, 2014, 08:50:02 PM »
Sorry for starting a new thread.
I felt a big need to turn the page on this.
Where finally done with our automation product.  :D :D :D
I worked 'til my hair fell off and I'm very happy with it.

You can find info on our site:
automanefforts.com

Christian_ae (on this forum) will answer questions if you have any.

So ... go ahead and place your orders so I can buy some hair back (and my wife).

Best regards,
pelle@automanefforts.com

Exciting! How does it integrate with ultimation? Congratulation on completing this complicated project.

No integration with ultimation so far. Let's see what the demand is. I'm sure it's a pretty straight forward interface, not far away from the VCA only. But ... time, time, time.

From my understanding Ultimation and Total Recall are not supported.

This could be perceived as a 'step back' if you use TR as part of your workflow., it's not just for recalls, but a good tool to push boundaries in a Mix

My 2p:

Personally can't see facilities with 40-80ch buying into this product, without the ability to recall projects.

It's priced too high to appeal to the 16-32 Range.

I appreciate you input, sintech.

We decided not to implement Total Recall in the first version, but it is technically possible for us to add it to the CV96 in an update. We will see what our customers need and want.

But you can of course use the visual representation in the software to approximately recall the fader positions...   ;)

Yeah, yeah .. nag nag ..

I'm pretty sure we'll start on the TR card soon. I already have a prototype that scans the pots and switches.
Just haven't started on the software side.

It's just that as a mixer I hate recalls and I do whatever I can to avoid them.
To the point where I infiltrated the business and eliminated the features.

I know you don't like recalls to.
SO, you should all thank me!

Great job guys! Really impressed i must say.

I can see what you mean with the recalls in a way... it has almost never happened i had to make a recall because of a client etc... (though it happens) its more i didnt have time to finish before another recording/mixing session is going to take place, so I had to paus a couple of days, just sayi

And i mean different engineers will maybe have different setups when recording or mixing, with routings and such as a template to start with,  alot of benefits with recalls imo :)

Congratulations Pelle!

Finally your baby has born! We are very proud of your effort to bring your product to life and offer it to the SSL legacy family. I am sure you'll find lots of happy homes and success.

I acknowledge the amount of effort that you had, not only to research and design it, but also to build this as a product. I think I can talk for everybody here that we are very proud of you.

I wish you the best of lucks and you'll have our support like you always had.

Cheers,

Artur

Ok. This is how you quote.

Please correct the quotation above.
Even though I might agree, I wanna state my own quotes.
