4k Quad compressor i/o mod

Does anyone know if there is a way to modify the Quad compressor cards in a way that gives you L/R i/o access? It would be great to have these i/o points on patch. For instance, if you would like to use a different compressor on the master buss, you could take the Quad comp out of the master vca path and use it on something else. Using the supplied pre/post vca insert points doesn't let you remove it from the master chain to be used elsewhere. Or does it?

if you want to use another compressor, patch it from:

 'Pre VCA Insert Send', and return 'Post VCA Return'. (this will remove the quad+ master fader out of the signal path)


You can re-purpose the comp and master fader for use elsewhere on the console, leaving the patch points:

'Pre VCA Insert return' (and the balanced input to the quad) and 'Post VCA insert send' (as the output of the quad)
