There are clues here. First, if adding solos does not give the click, the click relates to when solo is first initiated. Second, its not in a bucket, it is in the main module where solo is controlled. So look at where the solo audio first enters the monitor chain. It would indicate a failed cap, putting dc into the audio chain. You will need the appropriate extender cards for modules in the centre section. You will need at least a scope. Then its faultfinding 101. Study the schematics, and then decide where to start measuring.

Can you zoom/facetime with good tech? Hate to see you still with this problem.

No one any idea...?
Still a big problem and takes away a very important function.

I heard from an old tech guy it might have something to do with grounding.
He remembered all sorts of things when a console is moved to another location...

Thanks,
Tilmann

Great work man. I have a control box, but not the mating extender. Did you happen to have a few of those printed and could sell an extra?

Thank you!!
This will save me a lot of time!
I'll proceed immediately with redoing it in Kicad and printing a board for it!

Sorry, should have sent this schematic, too.

I have at least 2 different kinds of touch pcb's in this console. The blue potted ones and the green non potted ones. They work fine together mixing daily with the Tangerine auto .I believe the console the additional 56 faders were taken from were of the same vintage (4056 G. No 9k stuff here.

Those 2 are the same circuit, I think the older (blue) ones were oem from p&g. The latest ones with the vari cap are not compatible. The pcb is also bigger.

Thanks Everyone!!!
The small amount of components present on the 354 test jig (Thanks Chris for linking that thread!) makes me optimistic that It should'n be too difficult to recreate.
Looks very simplified compared to VCA fader itself.

I can see two of the same power connectors used for the SL613 Jig, they are likely linked to together just to make it easier to use the 613 and the 354 with a single psu.
There's the IDC connector with presumably goes to the VCA card on the channel itself.
They used a rotary switch with discrete steps instead of a pot for the fader, there are 5 blue burns trimmer which I presume are used to finetune the individual attenuation levels of the rotary switch (fader).
The Vca switches this fader in an out compared to a fixed value (photo is quite blurry but I looks like it says +10dB).
I don't know how the total recall swtich is implemented, I'll check my documentation to find out!

I'm very excited to get it working!
All the best!
Michele
