I bought the 2181b Version.
5,85.-€ if you buy 100+
The A-Version was more than 10.-€
With a distortion Meter you can trim the B version to better specs than the Pre-trimmed A Version,
and better than all of the 2150 Versions.
So I thought this would be a ok compromise…

here are some pics. the fader bus cards have a solid pc they are screwed into. the channels bus cards are a bit trickier maybe. thinking of leaving them in and clean them.  i see though if i start in each bucket on the right placing cards back in it might be easy to line both cards up.

Ok. Play time over now. Waiting all these years has me rushing things. Finally taking it apart and cleaning and testing all ribbon cables and connectors. Also probably gonna start recapping some of the center section cards.  I’ll post some pics but since this will be my board til ever I might as well get it right from the start 👍

So, I am going a bit forward with the Automation System.
I recently got myself a 3d Printer and made a special Fader Bracket for testing the Faders in the Console.

Because I have a very old Console, the Faders are very old big Metal Boxes.
Unfortunately they don't have the usual 100mm range and also have the Fader tip right in the middle of the Bracket.
Later Versions have the Cutout for the Fader off Center, wich allow to fit most modern replacements faders.
That's why I have to make a new Fader Bracket.

Does anyone know where SSL made their Fader Overlays for the 9k?
Is it Polycarbonate?
I am looking for a company who can make the for me (at a very good price, need more than 50pcs)

If someone have experience with it, please share your Info!

I’ll try and post pic of under patchbay.  By jumper fo u mean cabling from computer ?  I have the 5 channel buckets and a vca 1-8 if that’s what your referencing.  I’ve just started to make dl cabling for my 2” machine.  For audio just plugging into patchbay now from laptop.

Dirty or unused Line Level pot or Float switch or any other switch/pot in the main audio path, especially the Line Level Pot can cause this problem. I've "seen" this too many times.

Make sure you have the jumper plug in, under the patchbay for the master section, like all the channel buckets.

Its probably not only SSL who is ordering as much as they can, almost every Manufacturer who makes VCA Compressors...

Stam Audio sells their 202 Golden Version, but its 200 bucks each.

Wow.  After trying and measuring all day.  And soldering a few traces on main board. I remember I bought some spare cards awhile ago when available.  I was chasing missing +15v on cards 26 to 27 and sure enough the only spare I have is 27. Which when swapped brought 15v back. While troubleshooting this has brought me more knowledge I’m starting to believe in a higher power. lol.  During the move I dropped a Sony dmx r100 mixer I will be using for demos and multing keyboard and broke the front panel and on my last day in NY I went to pick up a eBay item and the kindest man in the world had 2 of the Sonys for sale.  He basically gave them to me for free.  I seriously hope the road forward with this beauty doesn’t bring me that much of a scare.  But I definitely need to find out what’s going on with the rf card.  Maybe some new chips and re cap asap
