3.5 Floppy won't blink red and read disks

I was working on my console today and I booted up my computer. I the middle of boot up the computer froze. I powered it down and removed the disks. When I powered the computer back up, the red lights on the 3.5 drives were not flashing for me to put the disks in.  I removed the SCSI card, cleaned the edges and reseated the SCSI connector. No difference. Same result.

Any ideas on where to start trouble shooting?

I had something like that. It sucks.

Youtube has video on cleaning floppy heads.

Pop off the 3.5 floppy unit and reseat molex and other connections.

I guess you cleaned the edge card?

Battery not leaking acid on cards? Happen to me. You can run without batteries think it's just the clock.

New floppies can be had on ebay. Just a 235 with scsi.

I did clean the edge card of the SCSI.  How do I know if the computer is sending signal to read the floppies. That was usually signified by the blinking red lights on the floppy drive.  No blinking red lights at the moment so I can't tell if it is an issue with the 3.5 drives or the SCSI card or something else.

I forget but you have two batteries on one of the cards in the computer.

If it's been a while reseat and clean all the edge cards.

Exercise the molex connecters inside the 3.5 unit.

I had a burnt trace on one of my cards.

**For Future forum reference**

This issue is now solved & the computer boots. And was a case of cleaning edge connectors on the CPU and reseating the connections to the 3.5" drives., as Joe reported back.

As we know, bad edge connections are the biggest problems, and easiest fixes.
