Subwoofer enable button

Hi,

Here's a stupid question, but is there an way to have a spare output that will out put at the same time as the monitors or mini monitors are running.

Basically i want to have a button on my console that enables a subwoofer when i want it. I dont want it to grab the same signal from the monitor or mini, i want the console to send out a signal that is separate but the same source.

Why? because i find when my subwoofer is connected to my speakers, Signal going to sub then out to monitors, it eats some of the mids... even when not engaged.
Im assuming that if the signal is dedicated to the sub and the speakers have their own dedicated signal iwont have that suck of tone.

I can only see that there may be an "Alternate LS" out put, not sure how it reacts tho, can i have it run at the same time as mini ls or main monitors? I also see the studio amp, but im assuming it wont act like that... or maybe it will....

I don't recall anything like that already in the console.

I would recommend adding a balanced input bridging amp to your existing monitor feed to feed the subwoofer. That way you would also get level adjustment ability and input isolation for your main mon feed.

depending on the actual amps you are using, such things as the Henry Matchbox or such are possibly useful.

adding a switch to the ensemble lets you turn the sub off and on, which is sometimes handy. Broadcast Tools makes some useful products for this at attractive prices. This one is not quite what you want, but it gives you the idea. That does sound like a good plan!

Not sure why I didn't consider that.  Brain dead lately from putting this thing together and fixing the little gremlins.  That's drained me quite a bit.

I'm actually powering my ns10 and tannoy srm12b monitors off a Yamaha p2201 amp.
Works great.

What I've done is connected the main monitor pot to the amp and the speaker cable goes to a on off on switch which allows me to have an off position and a selector for the two sets on one monitor knob.

I'm doing the same for the other monitors.

The transformer will probably fix my issue. Great call!
