Solo Isolate
« on: August 21, 2022, 03:13:12 PM »
I'm trying to add Solo Isolate switches to my 8000GB.
I'm not finding anything to help in the 4000G manual.
I'm assuming I can just feed the Solo Cut Bus through the switch, but I'd like to be sure.
There was once a jpeg posted but the link is long gone.
Thanks,
Richard

Great Info!

Is there somewhere a complete Documentation of the 'E Series Standard Modifications'?

Thanks,

That would be good, if only there was...
co-designer and project manager G series analogue 1987
channel strip designer J series 1992-93
design "caretaker" 4000/6000 1985-93
analogue team leader ARC/Bertha 1988-92

If I could find a copy of the E series logic card schematic, I could come up with something for you E guys. You just have to break the VCA Fader Solo Cut Bus and put the connection through a switch. Since nobody uses the track arming buttons anymore you could use them as the switch. That switch closes contacts on the logic card you could probably do everything needed on the logic card. I have a very old E manual somewhere in my shop. I’ll try to dig it out and come up with a plan. I did this mod on the early E but that was a long time ago, so I don’t remember how I actually wired it. I also turned the rear bus into another send and the front to rear pan pot into its level control. I think I changed out that pot for one with a switch.

Hi there,

In a few weeks I'll be repairing some solo isolates.
They are the ones controlled in buckets from the centre section.
The switches connect direct to the upper back planes in each bucket - and probably the solo bus track is cut at one end (TBC).

Will get some photos and let you know.

Anthony.
