Cutdown 4024G - Retrofitting Tangerine
« on: February 17, 2026, 01:45:45 PM »
Hi all,
I have a cutdown 4024G console without a center section. The channels do not have the multiplexer boards fitted.
There is a Tangerine Automation System with automation and recall-it for sale in my area and I am contemplating adding it to my console.

Would it just be a matter of retrofitting the multiplexer cards and a bus driver card from the center section for recall to work?

Where would I plug in the flat cables for the automation on my console as I have no center section? Could I plug them directly into the fader bus cards?
Do you see any other hurdles or show-stoppers?

Best,
Christian

We don't have any Tangerine Systems. Yes you can plug 50 way ribbon cables into the fader mother boards. You probably need custom 50 way ribbon cables go from the fader mother boards to the interface. There are one to one. Normally they are already in the console, that go to the connector panel under the patchbay. If you want Recall, you would need a recall card per channel and the main driver board. I'm not sure where the driver 20 way ribbon cable goes, since there is no recall computer. I assume the interface box, like the fader ribbon cables.

Thanks for your reply. Sounds good and makes sense.

Does anyone know if the multiplexer cards are compatible between E and G, and also if I can use the E series bus driver card with my G channels?

Yes you can. We have both. Shouldn't be a problem.

Hi Christian,

I have a stack of multiplexer cards, and spare total recall bus drive cards if you need some.

Do you have a keyboard?

Lastly, what was the asking price for the second had Tangerine?

Anthony.
