6k to 4k mod

I know this has been asked before and it has been done so i gotta ask as more people join the forum...does anyone have any info on the 6k to 4k mod where it bypasses the ABC buss at the touch of a button . Any info is greatly appreciated!!!

Can't you patch around it?  Say, A bus outs to VCA pre inputs?

Hi Michael,

the point of the mod was to bypass the 3 buss section completely but still be able to hit a switch and revert back if need be. Saw it done once and the facility shutdown before i could get the techs number and schematics. Also on the 6k there is no pre or post input on the vca nor is there an input to access the compressor pre or post, thats the big difference with the 4 and 6 aside from the 3 buss.

Spoke to George G about this two days ago.

You have to modify the 651 to have pre and post VCA inserts, it's the same motherboard, you can then bypass the 6000 stuff and go direct to the 651 from the bus cards.
