Ultimation Fader Mod
« on: August 09, 2013, 08:38:06 PM »
I am currently using my ultimation console without a computer, and want to use the VCAs instead of the fader wiper.   I don't have ultimation schematics, does anyone have some scanned or know what I'd do to  accomplish this? Either that or I'm looking to trade my faders for VCAs if anyone has. Thanks!

Kevin

The moving fader card has a switching IC, my guess is that it could be jumpered for permanent VCA operation (Ultimation fader in place) with a VCA fader the Law would be wrong. (or so George G told me)

Your faders are most propably acting as VCA faders allready. Logics default setting is to route audio signal trough the VCA chip. Id you're in doubt, switch fader PSU off for 20-30 sec and seitch it back on. This will reset logics to the default.

Awesome guys, thanks!  If I were to  jumper IC 2, I wonder if I'd still need the power supply for the faders?  When I switch the supply off, I get no large fader, which makes me think it defaults with no computer to the wiper.  If i put terminators in place and get the IC 2 to play right, I think I should be good to go. I'll have some results later this week. Thanks again!

Yeah, you need to power up faders. Motors PSU is the one you should turn off until you use them.
