4K Electronic Parts that every owner should have just in case

I've started this thread to build the ultimate list of Electronic Parts that every E/G-Series SSL-User should have at hand.

We've already discussed Capacitors ( http://forum.sslmixed.com/index.php?topic=306.0 ) but obviously there is other electronic parts like I've just experienced when my 024 card started going wrong. ( http://forum.sslmixed.com/index.php?topic=384.0 )

A lot of the transistors are actually relay fets, in a transistor package:

Transistors:

Other transistors, (beware, for example a standard BC184C has a different pinout to a BC184LC and won't work)

G series should have:

BC212LB

Regulators:

for VCA cards and Dynamics, these regulate the bipolar rails down to 15V for the VCA's  (also in a transistor package)

15v Positive and Negative:

L78L15

L79L15

For a personal console: I'd buy 20 of each of the above and 5x J175

have these. Seems to be a second source manufacturer somewhat like NTE devices in the States. But I've used BC441-16 's made by them and they've been fine.

Dont forget the rectifiers and transistors for the power supplies , a must have on any tech shelf !

Regarding PSU Bridge Rectifiers, I was in Jim's storage containers last week and found some of these, they originate from Sony Digital, NOS, and he has more (at a good rate) 

Crydom rated @ 600V and 100A, very heavy duty!!! should be perfect for a 25A rail, what do you think??

Hi Andy and Marc

Ja, Ich habe some of these and well done Andy for spotting them and getting a great deal. They were originally from Oxford Digital and I helped construct the first few prototype Oxford consoles when they were first made in the UK before being constructed in Japan later on.

Andy, being the guy he is, spotted them here and bought them at a very good price. I'm amazed that the new Farnell price is around £92. I have just counted 7 more of these available if anyone needs them. Any offers people, obviously far cheaper than the Farnell price.

My secret storage containers are holding less and less useful SSL stuff these days, mostly thanks to Andy buying most of it, but I still have loads of patchbay and other useful wiring bits (new and used). Some of this is still listed on my website (http://www.profcon.co.uk/page11.htm).

Marc, thanks for your recent email regarding 48 channels of PT to DL wiring. I am dealing with this and will get back to you very soon.

Quick question - can you guys identify the mouser.com Part for the "sockets" used for transistors across the console?

They would be spacers rather than sockets. Normally re-use these.
