VCA to Monitors Not Working
« on: November 20, 2013, 05:16:59 AM »
My VCA to Monitors is not working. I'm not sure it every did, but this is big button for me as I like to have my tracks on the faders coming back from the multitrack and the small fader to send to the busses.  When I press in the VCA to Monitors switch the light engages, but the status of the console doesn't change. I am assuming that the small faders would have the green led button lit to show they were routing to the matrix. What should I be looking for?

VCA to Mon control voltage is via Pin 21 on the 82E21 card

My first change would be T4 on the 021 card (4011 Logic IC)

What should pin 21 when checked with a meter?

I have +11.8V for not active and + 18.26V when active on Pin 21.  Where is the next place to check?

Yes. When in Record Mode and I hit VCA to monitor the Large Fader is still sending to the routing matrix and the small fader is still going to the the L/R buss.

I would assume also the green lights that show To Routing should turn green showing that the small fader is sending to the routing matrix.

Surfing an Extender: Upper Bus card Pin 57, getting these voltages for VCA to Mon on and off.

Based on the console voltages +/- 17.91 and Logic +11.56v

Do these control voltages go via a protection Diode? if so, it's going to be after the 82E21 pin 21 and before Upper bus card 57.

I am getting 9.14V on pin 57 and Pin 11 on the 93 card header. My master flip switch is also not working.

Also, I might have popped the PICO fuse on the channel. Where do you get these?

I'd change T11 on the 82E21 (I think it's a 4013) that should fix the master flip.

Pico fuses you can find on ebay

There are like a 100 different pico fuses. What is the exact one?

Thanks so much.

Is this for one of the channels? you should have two: +18V and -18V

Found the fuse that went out. I ordered some 2A pico fuses off eBay. I changed T11, but it solved the problem with the master flip.  Something is up. Is there a ribbon that sends everything out? If so, maybe the problem is there.
