CUT Switch just stay ON all the time

Hello everyone,
I have an SSL 4000 E series (1983) with no AUTOMATION and COMPUTER.

I had one CUT switch flickering on and off very fast some days ago...now that switch stay always ON even if the button is not pressed.

I realised that changing the VCA card on that channel with another one that is working...it works.

So I'm looking for a broken component on that VCA card..because soldiering looks still good.

I've changed the DBX 202, an IC TL074N (which was really damaged by the oxid); a transistor BC 212 with an equivalent BC 256; a resistor which was oxided 100K and the IC CA324 but still not luck...

any one had the same experience as me?

Welcome Luke,

personally, I find 013 cards the biggest pain.

It's well worth changing the positive and negative 15v regulators on the board, one of the Funky Junk Techs pointed me in this direction, for general 013 weirdness, this has solved so many problems :-)))

The regs are TR2 and TR3, regulating down to 15V for the VCA.

This is just one comment though, some one may have a more scientific approach to your problem.

I'll give a look..! Today "it" woke up that when in mix status it doesn't switch to line. It stays "mic ready".. Terrible!

I think it will be the Channels Logic card, if the strangeness of line/mic switching is just that one module

I see... It's about all the channels..  When I push on MIX.. It lits but the status seems always set on REC. I've also tried to switch the consolle ON and OFF  few times.. But nothing change..!  :(

Swap the logic card with a known good module.
