Recall CPU color monitor(again) **SOLVED**

Hi,

I'm trying to get my monitor situation in order.
When we got our new console we could only get the recall graphics in black and white.
The previous owner had made a simple scart setup for a small TV. And that works ok(but B/w).
But it would be nice to get the color working again.

I've seen that some say that either a nec multisync or a Samsung syncmaster would do the trick.
And I had a syncmaster at the studio and I just bought a breakout cable(vga to 5 bnc. RGB plus black and white sync bnc's)
But I still can't get it to work! I get no picture and different messages like Out of range or Not optimal resolution try 1920x1200.
I'm not sure how to connect the sync bnc's cause there's no documentation of the breakout cable.

Any ideas of how I should connect it? Or is there another(somewhat)cheap solution?

You can use any tv that has PAL RGB scart.
To use VGA input you need some sort of converter, those are also discussed in thread I linked.

I made a rgb to scart adaptor. Just like the one on the thread you linked to.
The colors seem ok(some weird flickering on blue)but the sync doesn't seem to lock up.
The screen swipes from left to right.
Any sync adjustments that I can do on the video card?

Hi Stefan.  I went through this hell a couple years back, and was involved in the thread cited.  I used the Extron DVS 304, super cheap and easy, allows it to work with any monitor, looks great and sharp, and has worked perfectly for over 2 years straight (knock on wood).  Just thought I'd chime in.

Hi, had this exact sync issue before.... and the fix is... you need to hit the SSL button on the switcher, once and once again, and all will be good.

Some video dist cards will work without a switcher.. others need to see one.

That happened to me to! Switcher button was the trick.

You can to also a analog switcher, you have the input in the computer front plate which will trigger the relay switch.

I'm pretty sure our switches aren't connected.
Don't even think I got that cable.

Is it the round RGB connector or the long flat video control connector?
Maybe there's a way to do a makeshift cable to see if this does the trick?

I hooked up the video switcher and that SOLVED EVERYTHING!!
Now I can recall in blazing color

Well you see... I actually forgot to hook up that cable on the computer side 
After that it was smooth sailing!

I get the occasional interference every 10 minutes or so.
But nothing major.
